American Incorporated offers comprehensive design, engineering, and drafting services. Mirroring our “turn-key” approach to construction, we have built an engineering team with the capabilities to bring a design from concept to permit and beyond. Along with our in-house staff of architects and engineers, American Incorporated works with a network of local consulting engineers, allowing us to scale to the needs of a project, and providing a single source of design services for our clients. We provide design services for architecture, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and industrial/commercial refrigeration. Aside from designing for building permits, American Incorporated’s engineering team also produce specialty designs for industrial applications and processes.

Supporting the design effort, we have an experienced drafting team with capabilities in industry-­leading software packages for 2D/3D drafting, Building Information Modeling (BIM), machine design, and coordination. We work in AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk Inventor, and Navisworks. Our team is structured to scale the level of detail to suit a project, from a fast-tracked light commercial design that needs to make it to plan check, to a detailed structural steel drawing package, to a fully coordinated 3D Building Information Model of a hospital campus.

Along with these services, American Incorporated provides a number of analytical tools that support the overall design process. These include structural calculations, photometric modeling, photovoltaic simulation, whole building energy modeling, building thermal load analysis, California Title-­24 compliance modeling, ASHRAE 90.1 energy modeling, LEED documentation, computational multiphysics flow simulation, and custom HVAC system simulation. Software used for these services include Energy Pro by EnergySoft, Trane TRACE 700, System Advisor Model by NREL, Autodesk CFD, and custom applications developed in-house using Microsoft Visual Studio.
